LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Skateboarders are soaring high in Lancaster.

Monday night, the town board rejected a proposed "skateboard ban" in the village business district. Some business owners supported the ban, claiming skateboarders were disrupting vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Local skateboarders and BMX bikers protested the proposal.

And the town sided with the skateboarders, voting down the measure.
