CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The TSA says it caught a loaded gun in a man's carry-on bag as it passed through security at the Buffalo Airport early Thursday morning.
Authorities say they found a 380-caliber handgun in the bag of a Pennsylvania man traveling to Pensacola Regional Airport through Atlanta. The man was detained and questioned.
TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein said, "They came over to the checkpoint and low and behold there was a loaded firearm, a load hand gun. It was a .38 caliber handgun. So he didn't make his flight and the police are handling the matter."
The investigation continues and authorities say the incident did not impact airport operations. The man's name has not been released.
