WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two West Seneca firefighters helped safely bring a 26-year-old man down from the top of a girder bridge over Cazenovia Creek.

Authorities were called to the bridge on Orchard Park Road near Seneca Street around 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Anthony Jividen of Lackawanna told authorities he had climbed on top of the bridge to "check out the view," and once he got up there, became too frightened to climb down.

Firefighters Stephen Pepper and Jonathan Minazzi of the Seneca Hose Fire Company went up in the bucket of Ladder Truck 6 to bring Jividen down. Orchard Park Road was closed briefly while they worked.

Police arrested Jividen, charging him with second degree reckless endangerment, second degree criminal nuisance, trespassing, and disorderly conduct. After being processed, he was taken to ECMC for a mental health evaluation.

No one was hurt during the incident.
