One dead after two-car crash in Amherst

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - An 84-year-old Amherst woman died after a two-car accident Thursday afternoon.

Police tell News 4 the crash occurred around 2 p.m. at Wehrle and Darwin Drive. Loretta Sperrazzo collided with a car driven by 42-year-old Irving Barrett of Amherst. Police say they do not know at this time what caused the crash.

Irving was unhurt. Sperrazzo was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Amherst Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to call 689-1311.
