MINA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A few days after an accident happened in the Town of Mina, a one-year-old boy died as a result of his injuries Saturday.
The accident occurred on February 20th shortly before 1 a.m. in the East Bound lane of 186 where the investigation shows a tractor trailer was stopped on the side of the road due to the weather conditions.
Dale Legg, 52, of Ohio was the operator of the tractor trailer who pulled his vehicle off the road because it was difficult to see.
Matthew McBride, 39, of PA did not see Legg's vehicle and collided into the rear of the trailer. Passenger Esmeraldo McBride, 28, was later transferred to Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh where she is currently being treated. Matthew McBride was treated and released from Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
Legg did not receive any injuries from the accident.
One-year-old Achilles McBride who was also in the car with Matthew and Esmeraldo was eventually taken to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh where he died from his injuries.
No charges are being filed.
