Pedestrian hit and killed by train

EVANS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Evans Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian and a train.

Authorities say the man was hit by a CSX train just before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. He was declared dead at the scene. Eden Evans Center Road was closed in both directions between Delameter Road and Route 20 as police investigated.

The victim's identity is being withheld while authorities notify the man's family.
