LANCASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police in Clarence tell News 4 a woman was hit and killed by a tractor trailer around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday. The accident happened while the woman was standing along the right shoulder of I-90 East near Harris Hill Road.

The crash led to a two-mile backup. Drivers were eventually allowed to exit, but the road was closed for much of the night as investigators reconstructed the crash. The road reopened just before 1 a.m.
