CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Rescuers in Cheektowaga have a new tool to save man's best friend in an emergency.

Project Breathe is giving away a total of 20 Pet Oxygen Mask Kits to the fire companies in Cheektowaga, Sloan and Depew, as well as Rural Metro Services. The firefighters were given a demonstration Tuesday night on how to use the device.

The pet masks can be used on dogs and cats as well as other small animals. They can also be washed and reused.

The mask kits retail for $75.
