Services for comrades of WNY soldier

ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) - Monday night, family and friends bit an emotional final goodbye in Alden for Sergeant Brett Gornewicz.

Now, two of his comrades who fought and died by his side are also being laid to rest.

The body of Army Specialist Ryan Jayne arrived at the Elmira-Corning Airport Tuesday morning. Calling hours for the 22-year-old soldier will be held Wednesday at the Carpenters Funeral Home in Corning.

And a funeral was held Tuesday morning in Port Henry near Plattsburgh for 29-year-old Staff Sergeant Dain Venne.

All three army reservists were killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan earlier this month.
