GETZVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Western New York's Jewish community gathered today in Getzville for a long-standing fundraiser otherwise known as Super Sunday.
The Jewish Community Center held a phone-a-thon to bring in money for the United Jewish fund. The Jewish Federation hoped to raise $150, 000 toward its annual $2 million campaign at today's event.
Julie Weinberg, the Super Sunday Chairwoman says, "It's federated giving, and that means, all the Jewish agencies in Buffalo, Jewish Center, Jewish family services, the Bureau for Jewish Education, there are a number of agencies that are funded either completely or partly by the money that's donated by the Jewish community."
News 4's Rich Newberg and Don Postles were among the volunteers making the phone calls at the fundraiser.
