AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Three people were hurt at the Tops Market on Maple Road in front of the Goodwill trailer when a driver mistook the gas and the brake.

Amherst Police say 69-year-old David Celani of Tonawanda drove his 2007 Chrysler head-on into a 2005 Dodge van parked next to the Goodwill trailer on Friday around 2 p.m. The force of the impact threw the driver, 47-year-old Renee Hauser, to the ground as she stood near one of the van's open doors. Her passenger, 82-year-old Frank Rovison, was standing behind the van and was also thrown to the ground.

Hauser and Rovison were dropping off items for the Goodwill. An employee, 59-year-old Johnnie McCoy of Buffalo, was injured when he fell off a platform by the trailer during the crash.

Celani was not hurt. Hauser, Rovison and McCoy were all taken to ECMC by Twin City Ambulance.

Police are investigating and asking anyone who saw the crash to call 689-1311.
