NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - The mayor of Niagara Falls says "enough is enough." His mission is to not only repair, but revamp a pothole-ridden street.

Imagine the sound of a bad road taking it's toll on vehicles.

"It's terrible."

A one block area of Tenth Street in Niagara Falls is riddled with potholes. And frankly, motorists are sick of it.

"It's not acceptable at all."

City crews were out Wednesday attempting to patch it.

But even Mayor Paul Dyster knows "It's pointless. We're down to the bed now. The bed itself is coming up. The pavement surface is cracked right apart."

Because of nearby Memorial Medical Center, the road gets a lot of traffic.

But these days vehicles big and small are getting swallowed like a Pac-Man pothole game.

Niagara Falls resident Linda Aleksiejuk said, "It seems no matter which way you go, you're hitting five others to miss that one."

While Tenth Street is on the list of big ticket road projects, Mayor Dyster knows the section will require a temporary fix and fast.

Dyster said, "We're looking at making an emergency repair on this street."
"We can't close this street because it's an access point to Memorial Medical Center. So what we've asked is that any citizens that have the opportunity to take alternate routes."

Mayor Dyster tells News 4 his crews will keep watching and fixing.

In the meantime, he's hoping a federal economic stimulus package will provide some needed money for Tenth Street and other trouble spots.
