BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police continue to investigate the death of 52-year-old William Hastings, who fell from the seventh floor of 400 Towers, an apartment building on East Main Street in Batavia.
Authorities say no criminal action appears to have occurred. Witnesses told police they heard no sounds of distress from inside the apartment before Hastings death around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. A check of the surveillance system revealed Hastings was alone.
Police say the fall appears to be the result of an accident or suicide. The Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office is assisting through an autopsy and toxicology testing.
