BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The tragic message of Jamey Rodemeyer has prompted a semester of soul searching at Genesee Community College.
The college hosted a panel discussion Tuesday night entitled, "Stop Bullying, Change A Life." The panelists included Jamey's parents, Tim and Tracy Rodemeyer.
Tracy told the audience, "Right now I think Jamey, he's opening everyone's eyes and having everyone take a second look at this and saying this stuff has to stop. So when people come out you know they are caring. And Jamey has touched millions around the world, and there's a reason for it because this has to stop."
The Genesee Community College Gay-Straight Alliance joined forces with Christian Students United to build a curriculum leading to Tuesday night's forum. On News 4's Bully Project page, victims of bullying can find resources to help stop the abuse.
