TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Goodyear Dunlop will be moving some of its motorcycle tire operations out of Buffalo to Akron, Ohio.
Starting January 1st, the Buffalo unit’s administrative operations will be moving to Akron. The jobs include non-field sales positions, marketing, customer service and other administrative posts.
The Tonawanda plant employs 1,300 workers. It is not clear how many of those jobs will be lost.
Tire Review quotes company president Chuck Mick on the move:
“Dunlop has always delivered market-driven, industry leading products to powersports customers. These organizational changes will lead to even better and more timely new products.”
