BUFFALO, N.Y. (RELEASE) - The Centers for Disease Control has recommended that children receive H1N1 and seasonal influenza vaccine. Talk with your pediatrician, family physician, or medical clinic to get their advice about having your children receive H1N1 or seasonal influenza vaccine.

For those unable to obtain H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine from their doctor, we have partnered with the Erie County Department of Health, Kaleida Health, Independent Health, and Blue Cross Blue Shield to provide access to free vaccinations for the city's children (including public, charter, non-public, and parochial schools).

The Buffalo Public School District has planned for this and has provided three regional sites across the city. A limited supply of vaccine is available. The type of vaccine your child will be offered (intranasal or injectable) will be determined by medical professionals during the clinic based upon review of your child's consent/screening form and upon the type of vaccine available. We expect to offer additional clinics in the future as soon as more vaccine is made available to us.

Attend the site nearest your home. Clinics will be held Saturday, December 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The sites are as follows:
Olmsted #56 at Kensington
319 Suffolk Street, 14215

Waterfront Elementary School #95
95 Fourth Street, 14202

Southside Elementary School;
430 Southside Parkway, 14210
