BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - There's a bigger crusade to save a Buffalo nursing home from closing. Community and religious leaders united to form the "Save the Waterfront Health Care Center Coalition."

Kaleida Health recently marked the center for possible closure meaning patients will be forced to move and jobs could be lost. The coalition says closing the home will put lives at risk.

"We wanna make sure that our seniors are taken care of. That their long-term care is taken care of and they don't have to worry about these things. I think the state government needs to look at this. We can't keep closing down our nursing homes," said Buffalo Common Councilmember David Rivera.

The waterfront dilemma coincides with the closing of the Saint Francis Nursing Home in Buffalo.
