BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Thousands of people will not feel the pain of hunger thanks to The Village Church who partnered with the international organization, Stop Hunger Now.
A total of 30,000 meals were packaged today with the help of volunteers who made the meals in no time.
"The meals cost 25 cents apiece and it's basically based on the number of people that you think you can mobilize. So, we thought we'd get 150 folks and it takes about 2 hours to package about 150,000. We had over 200 people show up so we did it in about an hour and a half."
The meals consisted of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and a flavoring mix with 21 essential vitamins and nutrients.
Since 1998, Stop Hunger Now has helped provide food, support, and aid to 76 countries.
