EAST AURORA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Installers are putting the finishing touches on the American Veterans Traveling Wall and Tribute Thursday morning.
It opens for public viewing after a 2 pm ceremony at Knox State Park in East Aurora.
Bill Kuppel from the Moving Wall Committee said, "We're putting it up along with the displays, the gold dog tag collection that lists all of the casualties from 1975 right up until yesterday, Gulf, Iraq, Afghanistan. The rest of it there's a display in tribute to WWII, Korean Veterans, and a tribute to the 9/11."
More than 1000 motorcyclists escorted The Moving Wall into town Wednesday. It is the smaller replica of the Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. and it's been touring the country for more than 20 years.
The Moving Wall will be on display until Monday before it moves to its next location.
