BUFFALO, NY - The former CEO of Bridges TV was back in court for a hearing. Muzzammil S. "Mo" Hassan is charged with beheading his wife Aasiya Zubair Hassan at the television station's studios last February.
Hassan's attorney, James Harrington told a judge that he will know in about a month whether he will raise insanity issues in his client's defense.
Harrington advised Erie County Judge ThomasFranczyk that he is hopeful psychiatric evaluations of Hassan can be completed by mid September so he can advise prosecutors about the nature of his defense.
The jury trial is now set tentatively for January 19th.
The Orchard Park businessman, Hassan,44, has been jailed since he turned himself in to Orchard Park police an hour or so after the death of his wife, Aasiya, 37, in the studios of his Bridges TV cable station.
