BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A New Year's Eve tradition in downtown Buffalo is hanging by a thread.
Organizers said the electric tower ball drop in Roosevelt Square could be canceled this year due to lack of funding.
Organizers are blaming the tough economy and say only half of the funds needed are available and they are now pleading for donations.
The annual event is organized by the Buffalo Police Athletic League . The Buffalo ball drop began 20 years ago.
