BUFFALO, N.Y. Press release - Buffalo's Official Fourth of July Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf. This free-to-the-public event will feature some of Buffalo's best talent and a fabulous fireworks display over the Buffalo River in celebration of Independence Day.
Scheduled performers include Michael Oliver & The Sacred Band, Cadenza of the Colored Musicians Club of Buffalo and Tom Stahl And The Dangerfields. There will also be hands-on children's activities from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. At 8:00 p.m. Mayor Byron W. Brown will welcome the crowd and introduce military personnel from the Niagara Falls Air Force Base for a Folding Flag Ceremony. This solemn ceremony will pay tribute to the US military in celebration of our freedom.
Ample parking will be available in paid lots and ramps in and around the HSBC Arena OR access the NFTA MetroRail Park and Ride. Coolers, cans, bottles and outside concessions are not permitted on the event grounds. Nominally priced concessions will be available for purchase on-site. Folding chairs/blankets are welcome.
