BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Family members say 84-year-old Calvin Graham, who was reported missing Sunday, was found dead Wednesday morning near the train tracks.
A CSX employee discovered Graham near the foot of Wex Street around 20 yards from the railroad tracks, according to Buffalo Police.
Police were called to the scene around Walden and Bailey Avenues on the east side around 9 a.m. Homicide detectives are investigating the incident. They say an autopsy will be conducted by medical examiners to determine the cause of death.
Family members say Graham suffered from dementia, a disease that impacts memory and the brain. Graham's husband died from Alzheimer's, another form of dementia, a few years ago.
The elderly woman lived around a mile from where her body was found. A family friend tells News 4 that Graham grew up in NYC and frequently took the trains as a little girl. Her family believes it's possible Graham wandered away, heard the train and went to the tracks, waiting to get on board a train that would never arrive.
Graham leaves behind four children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many friends.
Police say there is no foul play suspected in her death.
