TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The call for cleaner air in the Town of Tonawanda is growing louder. New York Senator Charles Schumer has written to the Tonawanda Coke Corporation, urging the company to further reduce harmful benzene emissions.

A recent government study confirms the plant has released toxic chemical compounds into the air. For years, residents have blamed it for air pollution and health problems.
