TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The call for cleaner air in the Town of Tonawanda is growing
louder. New York Senator Charles Schumer has written to the
Tonawanda Coke Corporation, urging the company to further reduce
harmful benzene emissions.
A recent government study confirms the plant has released
toxic chemical compounds into the air. For years, residents have
blamed it for air pollution and health problems.
