BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A week long food drive inspired by Extreme Home Makeover has wrapped up collections on the city's west side.

The International Preparatory School at Grover hosted a collection point for the Extreme Makeover Food Drive Challenge.

Donations were accepted every day of the makeover, plus on Sunday.

It's a work that's done in every makeover community, but it looks like no one's done it better than Buffalo.

Principal, Kevin Eberle exclaimed, "We're looking at, to really be the stimulus, to really have this continue throughout the year. So we're really looking to partner with many other businesses and schools to keep this going all through the year. So it's a round-the-year type thing."

He also said, "The City Mission said we were without a doubt, we're beyond any other drive."

Western New York Americorps also collected some food for the drive.

Donations will go to fill the shelves at Buffalo City Mission.
