BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A collection in Buffalo's Bailey business district is the latest attempt by Queen City residents to reach out to the devastated island.

The Sigma Gamma Rho sorority held their annual Precious Pennies drive on Sunday on the corner of Kensington and Bailey.

Members collected spare change beginning at 4:53 p.m., the same time the earthquake hit last Tuesday.

All the money collected will be split evenly between the Red Cross and Haitian musician, Wyclef Jean's Yele Haiti Foundation.
