Hunter's Day of Hope for Children held on Saturday

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - Western New Yorkers turned out in Orchard Park Saturday morning to support a Buffalo Bills legend.

News 4's Melissa Holmes emceed as Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly and his wife Jill hosted the annual Hunter's Day of Hope for Children.

Jim's 50th birthday is on Sunday.

He shares the birthday with his son Hunter.

"Today is a day for families out there to celebrate their kids. To enjoy each and every day you have with them, because you never know when that will be taken away," Jim expressed. "I thank God every day for my two daughters, my little buddy up in Heaven, who really is the reason for all this because we already have changed a lot of lives."

Kelly's Hunter's Hope Foundation advocates for universal newborn screening for diseases like the one that killed Hunter.
