BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The jury is deliberating, Wednesday, in Dr. Corasanti's manslaughter trial.

Wednesday morning jurors asked for a read back of count one, vehicular manslaughter 2nd. That count also includes lesser offenses of DWI and Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol.

Corasanti was in court Wednesday morning with his lawyers. Members of Alexandria Rice's family were also in court.

Dr. Corasanti, 56, is accused hitting and killing Alexandria Rice, who was 18, last July with his luxury BMW last summer.

Rice was riding her longboard on Heim Road when the crash happened. Corasanti maintains that he never saw Rice, and didn't know he struck a person until later that evening.

Prosecutors say Corasanti was drunk, texting and speeding at the time of the crash.

Tuesday, the court says the jury requested to have the 2nd degree manslaughter and the leaving the scene of a fatal accident charges re-read to them.

The jury also requested to see Mark Rowland's original statement to police. He's one of the prosecution's key witnesses who described an "all mighty bang," and an "ungodly" sound while testifying on the stand. He also said he saw Alexandria Rice, highly visible in the bike lane, minutes before she was struck. Rowland says he saw Dr Corasanti's BMW swerving in the bike lane before the accident.

The jury also requested pieces of Rice's skateboard, an autopsy picture and they wanted to see the BMW.

News 4 Legal Analyst Terry Connors who's representing Rice's family in a civil suit against Corasanti said he thinks the jury might deliberate all day into the evening, Wednesday.
