WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Some Williamsville residents met to discuss the possibility of not living in a village anymore.
The Village of Williamsville Citizen Study Group is looking at the costs and benefits of dissolving the village and shifting services to the Town of Amherst.
The group's main mission is to inform residents what could happen.
Christopher Duquin explained, "We're also doing a comparison of town taxes and village taxes, to look at the tax burden on like-assessed homes. To see what the burden is and whether or not it is comparable."
The group will also devise most likely plans for dissolution of the village, to determine the best plan of action.
