BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Super Bowl is coming up but it's already Super Sunday in the Queen City.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo held its 30th annual telethon to support the United Jewish Fund Campaign.
They raised $175,000 on Sunday with help from local figures like Mayor Byron Brown and News 4's Rich Newberg and Don Postles.
Super Sunday Chairman, Shelly Yellen said, "It's really an opportunity for the Jewish community to come together, all generations, you see a lot of kids here. And it's really for their benefit, and for people who are in need worldwide."
The funds raised on Sunday help support local facilities such as the Jewish Community Center and several Jewish schools, as well as programs in Israel.
