The mission continues for one Western New York family, nearly one year after carbon monoxide poisoning killed their teenage daughter.
Amanda Hansen died during a sleepover back in January.
A defective boiler filled the room where she was sleeping with the toxic gas.
On Saturday, Amanda's parents distributed 200 free carbon monoxide detectors at the Fourth Annual Health Fair in West Seneca.
"It makes us feel good knowing that we're getting one in the home and that we are potentially protecting another family. That does make us feel good," said father of Amanda.
Amanda's Law, which requires contractors to supply a carbon monoxide detector with the installation of any new hot water tank or furnace takes effect February 23rd.
