BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) - The official period of mourning ended today for Buffalo's bravest.

Fire Department flags returned to full staff after thirty days marking the loss of Lieutenant Charles McCarthy and Firefighter Jonathan Croom in the line of duty.

Mccarthy and Croom died answering what they believed were calls for help inside a burning Genesee Street deli a month ago. No other victims were found inside.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
