Holiday season's popular gifts

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Retail Council of New York State recently conducted a survey to find out what you're buying this holiday season. Some are the standards that have been popular for decades, others are new high-tech gifts.

Hot sellers for girls this holiday season include Barbie, Dolls, Disney Hannah Montana, Video Games, Disney Princess, Dora the Explorer, American Girl, Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, Zhu Zhu Pets.

Hot sellers for boys include Video Games, Transformers, LEGO, Cars, Nintendo Wii, Trucks, Bakugan, Hot Wheels, Nintendo DS, Fisher-Price Toys.

What's popular for adults? That list includes cold weather apparel, books, video games, Blu-ray DVD players, small kitchen appliances, gift cards/certificates, digital cameras, jewelry and accessories, portable navigation devices.

Zhu Zhu pets are hard to come by, but you might be able to find them at Wal Mart this week. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday local Wal Marts will be lining shoppers up early, and then they'll go on sale at 7 a.m. Customers will be assigned numbers as lines build, and as supplies last. Customers will be limited to one per person. Each store will have between only 20 and 60 Zhu Zhu hamsters to sell each day. So if you're still looking for one, here is your chance and good luck!
