BLASDELL, N.Y. (WIVB) - An hours long standoff situation has come to an end.
Police were called to Lake Avenue in Blasdell around 5:30 Wednesday night.
They described it as a domestic situation involving someone with a gun.
The small village police force called in officers from the the Town of Hamburg to help.
"They're trained in the negotiation and peaceful ending to these types of situations," said Lt. Mike Melisz, Blasdell Police Chief.
Police say Dale Kluczynski kept them at bay for seven hours.
All that time, negotiators worked to persuade the man to come outside.
"He kept in contact through the bullhorn and he verbally would respond by yelling out the window or door once in a while," said Melisz.
At one point, police say Kluczynski came out of the house.
You can see from our video, they tried to use a taser, but it didn't work.
By early Thursday morning the standoff came to an end.
Kluczynksi surrendered .
"He just needed a little more time and coaxing," said Melisz.
