Jewish Federation reacts to Collins

BUFFALO, N.Y. (RELEASE) - Erie County Executive Chris Collins recently apologized for joking that Sheldon Silver is an "anti-Christ." The Jewish Federation Executive Director Daniel G. Kantor has released a statement on the remark.

Statement from Jewish Federation Executive Director Daniel G. Kantor on Erie County Executive Chris Collins’ Remarks:

“I have no reason to feel that Mr. Collins is anti-Semitic, but I also don’t know what was going on inside of his head on Saturday when he was addressing the group of New York State Republicans. I believe that it was meant to be a political comment on how Albany is run, but unfortunately he chose to use a very inappropriate metaphor.”
