KENMORE, N.Y. (WIVB) - He's overcoming many challenges in the hopes of landing his own TV show. News 4 got up close and personal with Kenmore native, Zach Anner.
Zach Anner is a funny man. He said he was born three pounds, seven ounces, with a microphone in his hand. He uses his wheel chair as a prop, and a vehicle, to strike your funny bone. And he's hoping Oprah will help him on his journey into show business.
In his YouTube video, Zach Anner said, "I have something called Cerebral Palsy, which I believe is the sexiest of the palsies."
Once he disarms you, Zach moves in for the kill on his online audition to host a show on the new Oprah Winfrey Network. First, he rules out shows he's not comfortable with, like cooking, or yoga, or making fashion statements.
His antics and quips on camera made him the hottest online vote getter with more than 9 million votes for the new show, something he says was mind-blowing.
Zach said, "I just kept having to hit myself because things like this do not happen, and it did!"
Never coddled or treated as fragile by his family, Zach's passion now is to take viewers on the road with him.
"I've wanted to do a travel show for a long time, like, just that really embraced the true spirit of travel, where everything goes completely wrong and you have to have fun anyway," described Zach.

It was Zach's mother who first learned about the Oprah auditions.
Susan Anner said, "Immediately I thought, "Zach, you've got to do this." Because that's what we've always thought about Zach, that he could host his own show."
Zach hopes to "open the world up to people who never thought they could travel before." But the underlying message goes even further.
Zach explained, "No matter what you've got going on in your life, if you've got a positive attitude towards you life, then you can overcome anything."
Zach made a pitch to online voters that he would crawl a marathon if he got a million votes.
Zach stated, "The 2011 Austin Marathon, I'm gong to crawl it until my heart stops, inevitably."
Zach lives in Texas now. He is home visiting family in Williamsville. He will be heading to L.A. for the final competition, hoping to become that one lucky winner who gets to host his own show on the new Oprah Network.
