Kids all smiles from pets and presents

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - If you're looking to bring a smile to a child's face, you usually can't go wrong with pets and presents.

Local veterinarians brought both with them when they stopped by the pediatric unit of the Deaconess Center here in Buffalo. Veterinarians in Erie and Niagara Counties have been collecting toys, clothing and money from their staff and clients all holiday season.

Reed Stevens, DVM of the Niagara Frontier Veterinary Society, said, "We're bringing our pets here and it's remarkable what the touch of a pet and the unconditional love a pet can bring to these folks here who are housed in this unit."
