NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Western New Yorkers are about to "go over the edge" to raise money for the Special Olympics. They'll be rappelling down the side of the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls.

On Thursday, over 150 people, including News 4's Lindsay Schwarzwaelder, will rappel down the Seneca Niagara Casino, all for a great cause. The purpose of this event is to raise money for the Special Olympics of New York. They are expecting to raise over $100,000 through this one fundraiser alone.

Wednesday served as a warm up because the gusty winds made it too dangerous to do the entire 26-story rappel. However, participants did get the safety briefing and got fitted for the harnesses and helmets. They even got up to the roof where our camera was able to go up to the ledge and look down. Lindsay managed to keep the smile on her face, but as you can imagine, it always looks higher when you are actually hanging off the edge.

Luckily on Thursday the weather will cooperate, and Lindsay is very excited to complete the big rappel. News 4 will have a photographer at the top and Lindsay will be wearing a small camera on her helmet so you can get the complete picture of what hanging off the edge literally looks like.
