BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Queen City and a west side family hit the national airwaves Sunday night in a long awaited "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" premiere.
The Powell family was featured on an episode back in November, when crews worked on their Massachusetts Avenue home.
The home was completely demolished and show crews and many local volunteers worked to build Dolores Powell and her four children a brand new home.
To celebrate the transformation, an event was held at Shea's, allowing Buffalo to shine nation wide.
Volunteers and members of the public showed up at the performing arts center to watch the national broadcast of the episode, which airs at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
New 4's Luke Moretti reports that crowd goers are really excited and proud of how the community pulled together to build a home for the Powell family in such a short period of time.
He has the report from Shea's downtown, where there's a packed house for the red carpet gala.
