Mail delivery curtailed in flooded areas

The U.S. Postal service is reporting that the flooding is disrupting mail service in some areas.

High waters are curtailing mail deliery for the Gowanda, East Otto and Cattaraugus post offices.

"Our carriers will make every attempt to deliver customers' mail," said acting District Manager Kathlee Burns. "Hover they have been instructed to not enter areas that are inaccessible because of flooding ro downed power lines. We will not jeopardize the safety f our employees.

Recent thunderstorms will not disrupt service in the the greater Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Southern Tier.

Delivery will resume in the affected areas once conditions improve.
