BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Families forced to pay high phone rates to talk to relatives in prison won't receive refunds for the cost.
That decision was handed down today by New York's highest court.
The lawsuit was first brought by the inmates' families back in 2004. The court found the fee was bad public policy, but didn't qualify as being unconstitutional.
