BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - We've heard the warnings about texting while behind the wheel. Now, there is a product that can prevent the temptation to text.
If you're worried your kids or even you yourself might be
tempted to text behind the wheel, there is new software out now
that takes that temptation away. Now there's a way you can it for
free and even better, get a free blackberry to go with it!
The software for your phone that helps prevent distracted
driving is called ZoomSafer. It detects when you're driving and
automatically activates. It can automatically update facebook and
twitter and others in your social network to let them know when,
and even where, you're driving.
If a casual contact calls, texts, or emails you when you're
driving, ZoomSafer will suppress the alert so you're not distracted
and it sends an autoreply back to them letting them know you're
driving and you'll get back to them when you pull over or park. If
a close contact texts or emails you, the phone will actually read
the text out loud to you. And then you can actually send a voice
powered text message back to them.
Now here's the thing, it's only works for a Blackberry. But
if you don't have a Blackberry, don't fret. Here's the really great
part, if you sign up for a new two-year plan with Verizon,AT&T,
Sprint or T-Mobile, you can get a free Blackberry and the ZoomSafer
software is free as well. The newer Blackberry's, like the Storm 2,
are a reduced price, not free, and this is only available online
through
ZoomSafer.com. It's not available in stores. If
you don't need a new plan but just need to extend your current
plan, you can still get a free Blackberry.
Not only are you trying to protect you or your child with the Zoomsafer software, you're also saving a lot of money by getting a potentially free Blackberry, those can run about $200.
