Severe storms caused heavy flooding all across Western New York from Sunday night into Monday morning.
A flood warning was still in effect Monday morning for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties as well as the southern parts of Erie and Genesee counties.
In Chautauqua County, the Silver Creek Fire Department was underwater as the village dealt with rising waters that witnesses say swept away ten mobile homes at a local trailer park. Rescuers used boats to pull some people from their homes, and were attempting to obtain a helicopter overnight to use in their search efforts.
Elsewhere, the Cattaraugus County Emergency Services Office declared States of Emergency for the town of Perrysburg and the village of Gowanda. A travel ban is in effect in both areas until 1 pm Monday afternoon, and a boil water advisory has been issued for Perrysburg, Silver Creek, and the Village of Gowanda until further notice.
Also in Cattaraugus county, Route 219 has been closed and was under two feet of water Monday morning.
In Erie County, the town of Collins is under a State of Emergency, and some people have been evacuated from their homes in the town of Boston.
