Western New Yorkers flocked to retail stores before sunrise on Friday in search of deep discounts.

And many said it just wouldn't be Black Friday without braving the cold and the crowds for those early bird doorbuster deals.

People waited in line for hours outside the Toys 'R US in Blasdell.

Many hoping to get their hands on one of this year's hottest toys, the zhu-zhu pet.

Shoppers say the wait is worth it.

"I think you save a lot of money, several hundred dollars by doing it on Black Friday," said Joe Tomasik.

Susan Schuman explained, "You take it anyway you can. We've got college to pay for. We'll take any deal we can get."

"We were much busier this year than we've been any of the day after Thanksgiving since I've been here, which is ten years now," Manager of Target, Ben Gregory stated.
