Stokes set to face trespassing charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A former Buffalo restaurant owner at the center of a City Hall controversy, is set to face a judge Thursday in an unrelated case.

Leonard Stokes is scheduled to appear in Buffalo city court Thursday morning.

Stokes is accused of being involved in an altercation at a Herman Street beauty shop in January and faces a non-criminal trespass charge.

Mayor Byron Brown is accused of getting Stokes out of an arrest two years ago during a police investigation into stolen handicapped parking permits.

Funding for his failed, One Sunset restaurant is also being questioned.
