Those who got tax credit will owe more

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - If you received a certain tax credit, you may want to hold on to your wallet.

The federal government says it was too generous with its "Making Work Pay Tax Credit," meaning some 15 million taxpayers will likely owe money when they file their federal tax returns next year.

Those who are married, have more than one job or receive social security benefits while earning taxable wages will likely have to pay.

Most workers began seeing the tax credit through small increases in their paychecks last spring.
