It was a tough night on roadways in the northtowns.
Niagara Falls Boulevard had a tough night, as the heavy rain came down in Amherst. Water also flooded Sheridan Drive in the Town of Tonawanda.
Driver Peggy Sloan said, "Oh yes, it was blowing there was a lot of water, I checked my basement."
"I actually just bumped into the back of a pole right now cause I couldn't see out the back window," said driver Christina Allessandra.
At one point, there were more than 1,500 customers without power, mostly in Amherst and Buffalo.
Most of those customers now have their electricity back.
