NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Firefighters are responding to early reports of a young boy trapped in a burning house in Niagara Falls.
It is a very devastating scene on 19th and Ferry Avenue because the Fire Chief has confirmed that a young boy has been killed in the fire.
The fire happened in a vacant building and the Fire Chief tells News 4 that for many of the firefigthers it is the first time witnessing the death of such a young victim.
They have counselors waiting at the fire station ready to console and help them get through this.
The fire department was called out at 3:45 Friday afternoon and they have been out here ever since.
The Mayor is out at the scene as well and a number of bystanders looking at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Nobody else has been injured, but according to the Fire Chief a young boy has been killed in the fire.
