AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - UB'S Wrestling team is supporting the fight against cancer this weekend.
The Bulls hosted the Ohio Bobcats in the third annual "Takedown Cancer" event.
Visitors not only got to see the young men wrestle in their first conference "dual" match in nearly 2-months, they could also take part in auctions and raffles.
The coin toss at the beginning of the match was thrown by Shawonn who had cancer in her muscle at age 15.
Tammy Dochstater said, "We had a really rough time, in the beginning, they told us that she wouldn't make it to 16. Now she's 17. So we're very, very proud of that, and Roswell is wonderful."
Tammy tells us Shawonn is still having some medical issues but the cancer is in remission at this point.
