BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Hundreds of people turned out to bring some green back to the Buffalo region.
Re-Tree Western New York volunteers were hard at work on the lower west side on Saturday.
Along with workers throughout the city and suburbs, they planted nearly 1,700 trees to replace those destroyed by the 2006 October Storm.
Tysha Martin said, "I think the whole idea of Re-Tree Western New York is great. The folks that are doing it dressed in boots. It's just a great thing."
There's still plenty of planting left to do.
